About me,
the crunchy gardener

nice to meet you

I am the Crunchy Gardener! I grew up helping my parents with small garden projects, which mainly involved choosing which flowers I wanted to plant in my 3×4′ little garden plot. We always grew a variety of herbs, flowers, and vegetables in our backyard garden, and I really didn’t think too much of it. However, fast forward to my college years, I began to miss the connection to nature as I lived in the dorms. I wanted to be outside playing in the dirt, watching things grow. As soon as I left the dorm life, I vowed I would get my own garden started.

For my next residence, I rented a small trailer out back of a little farmhouse. I finally had all the space I could dream of, and I gladly jumped in, exploring all the different things I could grow. I began to learn about permaculture and became fascinated with the ways design could lead to a more sustainable future.

my vision

I continue to dream of the future years when I will have an urban farm or small homestead. Right now, I am continuing to learn all I can from my home in the city, taking part in projects that make sense for my smaller space. This blog is where I will share insights from my experiences and ideas that inspire me.

My hope is that this blog inspires you to start your own garden space as well. Whether you have just a window, a balcony, or acres of land, you understand that the best time to start is today. Gardening is a journey in which there are many lessons to learn, and an abundance of information to revel in. My vision is that we can learn and grow together!
